Total Team Development Culture and Skills Camp

Camp Objectives

  • To provide focus on player skills development to include: skating, stick handling, puck control, puck protection, shooting, and passing. Working to improve, not being scouted.
  • To offer athletes high-level skills coaching from NHL skills and player development coaches.
  • To provide team development opportunities through an immersion with teammates for four (4) days conducting off-ice and on-ice activities focused on evolution of team culture.
  • To expose athletes to college level strength and conditioning coaching and associated individual commitment to program necessary for success at the NCAA level.
  • To measure player skills through a "testing combine" which includes a set of off-ice and on-ice tests. These measurements can act as a baseline should future tests take place.
  • To provide leadership seminars for team captains and / or rising upperclassman. Camp will also include a session for captain / coach development.
  • To support the integration of new team members and enhance relationships of all team members.
  • To provide athletes with activities to prepare themselves for team season in November.

Successfully Added In 2018

  • On-ice skill development training lead by Ty Hennes, Pittsburgh Penguins Skating and Skills Development Coach and Pat Rissmiller, NJ Devils Player Development Coach.
  • On-ice training supported by college coaches from Dartmouth, UConn, Amherst, Holy Cross, Trinity, Colby, Conn and Bowdoin.
  • Added Sports Psychologist, Dr. Jason Emery to lead team development activities.
  • Added multi-task off-ice Team Challenge Competition which tested physical, intellectual and emotional performance against other teams.

  • Enhanced Team Challenge Competition
  • Team Assessments for each team at each training activity throughout camp.
  • Peer evaluation to provide athletes with anonymous feedback to aid them in their self-awareness and development.
  • Coaches Development Track which will allow you and/or members of your coaching staff to interact with and discuss topics of interest to you with staff members of our Total Team Development program.
  • Beginning of season refresher and update discussion based on summer team development learning.
